AppsiOS DrumsNews

It is good to see that iOS apps developers keep innovating with music apps. And Earhoof is definitely something new.

When I first checked the intro video my first thoughts was that it is kind of Figure drums module but more advanced. But after playing with the app I need to say that it is a very different one.

Each vertical pad represents pattern (that you can create by yourself or use presets or even just record) and you play on the pad with two fingers. At first I thought that like in Figure each pad represents different samples (kick, snare, hats etc.). But actually it plays different patterns with same sample. So the best use of this app is to plug it into Audiobus or to IAA host and record your performance.

Take a look at this intro video, it worth thousands of words…

Earhoof is a futuristic virtual instrument which turns your iPad into a rhythmic gradient of sound.

A sophisticated instrument creation tool, it allows you to layer multiple audio files and combine them with high quality digital signal processing. By continuously changing the sound parameters along the length of your device, Earhoof allows you to create highly expressive playable surfaces.

Its innovative internal rhythm engine allows you to easily play this surface, switching seamlessly between complex rhythms while remaining in complete control of the generated sounds. The result is a playing experience unlike any other, blurring the line between sequencer and instrument.
